We grew up in a world
where school was based on the three Rs:
Reading, 'riting, and 'rithmatic.
But I would suggest
that school spends way too much time teaching "facts" and how to pass tests
instead of teaching how to live a purposeful and successful life.
In high school they will teach you calculus, but not how to balance a checkbook.
Our brains are full of information, but not so full of knowledge.
Today I will practice
the three Rs of life:
*Respect for self
*Respect for others
*Responsibility in all my actions
Everything else will follow from that.
This daily journal came from a promise. Right before Memorial Day 2009, I met with my business coach Joe Stumpf. I shared with him my total burn out in my business of 20 years. Frustrated by what my life had become, I promised to get up at 5:00 AM every day, meditate and journal and focus on bringing passion back into every aspect of my life, my work, my family and my personal growth. Instead of going to work every day and having a PITY PARTY, I have decided to have a PASSION PARTY.
