We were young and in love
staring at the fog covering the ocean in Carmel
greeting our guests
and getting ready for our wedding
a gathering of close friends at Diana's friend's house on Upper Trail.
Little did I know
when she walked down the stairs
and the Rabbi started the ceremony
that our life together would travel such wonderful paths
that from this mutual love and trust of each other
would come such comfort, joy and abundance.
Twenty years later
we still wake up
make the coffee
and plan our morning walk
we continue to be with one another
filling our lives with beauty
and love
